Admission

1.1 Undergraduate-to-PhD fast-track

The direct entry from the bachelor’s to the doctorate degree allows the student to start his doctoral studies as soon as he completes his bachelor’s degree in engineering, without having to complete a master’s degree. This allows the student to shorten his studies by a year and a half. For more information, consult Fast-track programs.

Admission requirements

  • hold an undergraduate degree in engineering or other certification deemed equivalent by Polytechnique Montréal, or be a graduating student from an engineering program.
  • hold an undergraduate GPA of at least 3.2/4.0 (or an equivalent grade accepted by Polytechnique). However, candidates whose GPA is below 3.2/4.0 (or an equivalent grade) may still be admitted on the basis of a favourable recommendation from the graduate studies committee of the department or program concerned. The recommendation must be submitted to the Registrar’s Office before the stated deadline. The graduate studies committee may also take a candidate’s experience and other factors into consideration
