Biography
Oguzhan Tuysuz obtained his MASc. and Ph.D. degrees in Mechanical
Engineering from The University of British Columbia (UBC) under the
supervision of Professor Yusuf Altintas. He was a member of Manufacturing
Automation Laboratory (MAL), and his previous research focused on
machine tool dynamics; mathematical modeling of mechanics, dynamics,
chatter stability, dimensional form errors and their compensation in
machining processes; and also manufacturing parameter optimization for
aerospace applications.
Oguzhan then joined Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC) and worked as
Machining Technologies Development Specialist for nearly 3 years, during
which he contributed to manufacturing process development, improvement,
and optimization of newly introduced and existing aero engine components.
Oguzhan Tuysuz is now an Assistant Professor in Mechanical Engineering at
Polytechnique Montreal since November 2021. His interdisciplinary, physics based
research integrates analytical, numerical, and experimental
approaches to digitize manufacturing and to minimize the physical testing in
the process development stage.
