Jacqueline Wallace, PhD

Jacqueline Wallace, directrice des Communications, relations externes et internationales Jacqueline Wallace has been Vice President, Communications, External Relations and International Affairs since January 24, 2024. She has extensive knowledge of communications and public affairs in addition to far-reaching experience in creative strategy development, leadership, and business and organizational management.

Biography

Ms. Wallace obtained a bachelor's degree with honours in language, literature and linguistics from the University of Alberta (1998), a master's in communications from the University of Calgary (2002) and a PhD in communications from Concordia University (2014).

Between 1999 and 2020, she founded and led a number of start-ups specializing in areas that include digital content creation, distribution and rights management, social media marketing and analytics, and strategy, management, engagement and capacity-building consulting.

Most notably, Ms. Wallace co-founded Veer, a digital rights management and visual content start-up. She led the company's expansion into Europe and built a distribution channel across more than 100 countries. Veer's success led to it being acquired by Corbis, a global licensed content company.

Prior to joining Polytechnique Montréal, Ms. Wallace was Vice-President, Marketing and Communications at Mitacs, a not-for-profit organization that drives research in Canada's innovation ecosystem. In this role, she implemented a global marketing and communication vision and growth strategy, developed a strategic plan, and oversaw the organization's rebranding.
